Summer Camps Schedule 2024

2024 Summer Camp Listing!

Summer: June 24 - August 30, 2024

All camps are mixed ages 6 and up unless otherwise specified. We group students together according to age and ability and try to be sure all students have at least one peer during their camp. Please pack a nut-free snack & lunch, a water bottle, and sunscreen as we go outside for daily walks, field trips, and lunch breaks.  A typical day includes a walk to Pleasant Street or Reiche playground during our lunch hour.

Summer Camp Tuition 2024:

Cost for one full week (Mon-Fri): $355


Tuition is
non-refundable.

Covid-19: 

We follow and respond to the safety measures put forth by our staff/teaching advisory team and Centers for Disease Control. PLEASE STAY HOME and test for COVID-19 if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever, feel feverish, or chills

  • Sore throat or new cough

  • Nasal congestion with runny nose

  • Shortness of breath

  • Body aches or headache

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Nausea with vomiting or diarrhea 

  • Inform OSS staff if you test positive for COVID-19

SESSION 1: June 24-28

Under the Sea Spectacular, Painting and Collage with Sam O’Connor (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
Join us for an exciting week of artistic exploration with painted paper and collage. The week will culminate with an "underwater exhibit”. Students will learn different watercolor painting techniques, apply them to paper to create unique textures and visuals, then cut and tear them to create new collaged artworks. SESSION 2: July 1-5 *

Papier-mâché Creatures with Sam O’Connor (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday*

*Please note that this will be a 4-day camp with no camp on Thursday July 4th - camp is pro-rated tuition.
Come explore the wonders of 3-d hand building. This week is a fun sculptural exploration where students will sketch and design a sea creature of their choice and create a dynamic paper-mache project. Students will build a large model using sculptural methods and paint their creatures bringing them to life by the end of the week. Students will have the opportunity to collaboratively build the habitat for the creatures! (Assistant, Bella Bloom)

SESSION 3: July 8-12

Around the World with Mixed Media, co-teachers Sadie Weed and Bella Bloom (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
This week, we will be learning about different artists from all over the world! Every day we will dive into a new artist’s work and experiment with various media, textures, tools, and themes. Students will have an opportunity to paint, draw, and create 3-D objects while looking to nature, wildlife, ordinary objects, and the world around them for inspiration. It will be a week full of exploring what it means to be an artist!

SESSION 4: July 15-19

Printmaking Palooza with co-teachers Sadie Weed and Bella Bloom (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
Join us for this fun-filled week and exploration of book-making and printmaking! The week will be filled with the exploration of a variety of printmaking techniques partnered with the skill of bookmaking. Students’ prints will be showcased at the end of the week in unique handmade books.

SESSION 5: July 22-26

Food Truck Mania, Sculptures with Jill Osgood (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
This incredibly fun week will include dreaming up and designing every aspect of your own food truck, including the theme, logo, and menu. The project concludes with mini food trucks made from recycled boxes, fake fur, pom poms, and found objects. Sky's the limit here - Lobster donuts anyone?(Assistant, Sadie Weed)

SESSION 6: July 29-August 2

Cardboard Construction Zone with Harley Nimblett (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
Join us for a week of construction and building fun! Artists will learn how to apply design and attachment techniques to create their own miniature houses, movie/show sets, happy places, cars, and spaceships... you name it! Anything is possible when you combine cardboard with a little bit of creativity and experimentation! (Assistant, Sadie Weed)

SESSION 7: August 5-9

Painted Paper and Storybooks with Harley Nimblett (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
Together, artists will look at a selection of children's books to gain inspiration to create their own stories! Artists will also create their storyboards, paint their own painted paper, and create a hand made book by using collage and drawing! (Assistant, Sadie Weed)

SESSION 8: August 12-16

Drawing & Painting: Fun with Florals, Faces & Observation with Kelley Dillon (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
During this exciting week, students will explore drawing and painting from observation and imagination. You will cultivate your unique style, and experiment with diverse mediums and applications to craft one-of-a-kind floral and face inspired artwork. (Assistant, Bella Bloom)

SESSION 9: August 19-23 

This week is Full

Clowning and Commedia Dell’arte with co-teachers Zoe Cheever and Skye Ferris (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
In this fun filled camp, you will learn the history and techniques of a traditional theater form to create your own characters and twists through both improvisational games and visual art projects. This week will include some mask-making!

SESSION 10: August 26-30

Eco-Creations Extravaganza with Cat LaBarre (mixed ages)  9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday
Join us to explore different ways of making art while keeping in mind its ecological impact.  We will work on land art, mandala, sculptures, nature collage, drawing or painting with natural pigments and more!  We will create many projects, both indoors and outdoors using recycled materials and natural elements.
