2025 Summer Camp
Summer: June 23 - August 29, 2025
Monday to Friday: 9am to 3pm unless noted
All summer camps are mixed ages 6 and up unless otherwise specified. We group students together according to age and ability and try to be sure all students have at least one peer during their camp.
*WE ARE A NUT FREE SPACE. Please be mindful not to send your children to camp with nuts of any kind. We have students who have serious nut allergies. Please check with your teacher if your child needs special food accommodations.
**Covid-19 Policy:
We follow and respond to the safety measures put forth by our staff/teaching advisory team and Centers for Disease Control. PLEASE STAY HOME and test for COVID-19 if you have any of the following symptoms:
Fever, feel feverish, or chills
Sore throat or new cough
Nasal congestion with runny nose
Shortness of breath
Body aches or headache
New loss of taste or smell
Nausea with vomiting or diarrhea
Inform OSS staff if you test positive for COVID-19

Session 1 June 23–26: Print & Stitch
Only 1 spot left!
Get ready for an exciting adventure in wearable art! In this hands-on class, students will mix printing, painting, and hand stitching to make one-of-a-kind creations. Students will design and create a custom tote bag from canvas and transform a t-shirt with cool printing techniques and fun hand-stitched embroidery. No sewing experience? No problem! Bring your creativity and curiosity, and we’ll show you how to use both sewing machines and hand stitching to craft bags, t-shirts, pillows, stuffed animals, and more. Have fun while learning skills and creating something amazing!

Session 2 June 30–July 3 Birds, Birds, Birds!
(*4-day camp - no class on July 4):
Soar into creativity with BIRDS, BIRDS, BIRDS! This session will have campers drawing, painting, and sculpting their very own avian masterpieces. Inspired by the stunning Dancing for Joy bamboo sculpture, a 20-foot collaboration with TEMPOart and the Myth Makers, Donna Dodson and Andy Moerlein, this camp will dive into the world of local birdlife. The towering sculpture of two great egrets performing their iconic mating dance will serve as a symbol of the connection between our community and the birds that call it home.
Throughout the week, campers will create both 2-D and 3-D works of art, using a variety of materials to capture the grace and movement of birds in all their forms. Whether it’s through vibrant painting, dynamic sculpture, collage, or detailed drawings, this camp will inspire young artists to spread their wings and explore the beauty of the natural world. Join us for a week full of art, nature, and inspiration!

Session 3 July 7–11: Mixed Media Arts

Unleash your creativity with a week full of hands-on fun as you dive into the exciting world of mixed media art! In this class, you’ll experiment with a variety of materials including paint, fabric, paper, found objects, and more. Students will create unique art pieces combining both collage and printmaking techniques. Projects will include everything from vibrant painted wall hangings and textured collages to fabric pieces. Whether it’s through painting, printing, or collaging, you’ll discover new ways to express yourself and think outside the box. Anything is possible when you combine paint and collage materials with a little bit of creativity and experimentation!

This Camp is Full!
Unleash your inner artist as you explore the world of drawing and painting! In this camp, students will work with a variety of materials including charcoal, graphite, acrylic paint, and watercolor, to create vibrant works of art. Projects will include self-portraits, still lifes, and playful paintings of your pets! Whether you’re capturing the details of your own face or of a favorite pet, you will be experimenting with different painting techniques. This week is all about exploring the power of color and form. Students will have the opportunity to learn foundational skills and develop their own artistic style while creating a portfolio of colorful, expressive artwork.

Session 5 July 21–25: Papier-Mâché and Sculpture
Get your hands busy and dive into the world of sculptural art! This week, students will create amazing sculptures using mixed media. One of the key projects will be crafting custom bird feeders that is functional and artistic, perfect for your backyard. Students will also experiment with making small sculptures, learning how to mold and shape materials into creative, whimsical forms. By the end of the week, campers will leave with a unique sculpture collection and new skills in building with a variety of materials.

Session 6 July 28–Aug. 1: Animals All Around
In Animals All Around, campers will dive into the wild world of nature and imagination as they create wearable art inspired by their favorite animals and their habitats. Over the course of the session, campers will craft one-of-a-kind papier-mâché hats and masks that bring the animal kingdom to life. From fierce predators to gentle creatures, each camper will design a hat or mask that reflects the unique traits of their chosen animal(s) while exploring the connection between wildlife and its environment. Through hands-on guidance and creativity, campers will learn the art of papier-mâché, layering techniques, and sculptural design while bringing their animal creations to life.

Session 7 Aug. 4–8: Painting and Bookmaking
This Camp is Full!
Bring your creativity to life with this exciting week of painted papers and book binding! Students will explore the process of creating their own painted papers using watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media techniques to make vibrant, textured sheets of paper. These papers will then be used in bookmaking projects where students will learn simple book binding techniques to create their own hand-crafted books. Each student will write, illustrate, and bind a series of their very own books—whether it’s a short story, a comic, or a picture book! This camp is perfect for young artists who love to combine storytelling with their artwork.

Session 8 Aug. 11–15: Printmaking
This Camp is Full!
Dive into the world of printmaking and discover the magic of creating multiples of your artwork! Throughout the week, students will explore various printmaking techniques, such as block printing, monoprinting, and linocut. Using tools, paints, and unique surfaces, students will create stunning prints on paper, fabric, and other materials. They’ll experiment with textures, colors, and patterns to produce a variety of prints, including posters, cards, and fabric designs. Whether you’re printing on paper or experimenting with fabric, this week is all about learning the art of printmaking and producing one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

Session 9 Aug. 18–22: 3-Dimential Arts
Let’s make art that comes to life! This week, students will dive into the world of 3-D art, creating dynamic sculptures and functional art projects. Using a variety of materials like wire, clay, beads, feathers, and natural elements, students will craft their own wind chimes and nature-inspired dream catchers. They’ll learn about texture, balance, and form as they create their pieces. These projects not only allow for creativity but also give students the opportunity to connect with the natural world. By the end of the week, campers will have crafted beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects that they can hang in their homes or gardens.

Session 10 Aug. 25–29: Cardboard Creations - Movable Puppets
This Camp is Full!
In the Cardboard Creations session, campers will discover the art of turning simple cardboard into dynamic, movable puppets. Using their imagination and problem-solving skills, they will design and construct 2-D puppets with articulated joints that come to life with motion. This hands-on workshop will teach campers how to combine art and performance as they create characters and bring action to their puppets. Using cardboard, oil pastels, paint, and other materials, campers will create puppets that tell their own stories—whether they’re whimsical, funny, or dramatic! At the end of the session, campers will have the opportunity to perform with their puppets, collaborating on skits and storytelling.
